Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and his Andhta Pradesh counterpart N Chandrababu Naidu came in for severe criticism on Friday for wasting crores of money on luxury buses.
Media channels slammed the CMs of two Telugu states for splurging on comfort assets when the states are in huge financial crisis and reeling under drought.
Incidentally, KCR is expected to unveil his 5-crore luxury and bullet proof bus today, while the AP CM will follow the suit soon.
The 'vanity van' has been purchased for KCR's tours in Telangana and it costs five crores to the state. On the other hand, the AP Government is all set to purchase a similar kind of bus.
The lavish spending on the buses is coming under criticism from all sections and several media channels reported that despite drought like conditions and a doomed farming season, the TRS and TDP Governments are leaving no stone unturned to get the luxurious buses.
Reports say that the bus has a bedroom, rest room and a small hall for holding meetings.
However, speaking to NDTV, a spokesperson in the Chief Minister's office said that it is not really a luxury bus and it does not even have a bed inside.
The spokesperson further said that KCR will travel in the bus just like any other common man.
