Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao refused to comment on the visit of Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Telangana and his Rythu Bharosa Padayatra. When asked, Rao said that several Gandhi’s visited the State earlier and went back. What does government have to do with his tour? We are taking all necessary steps needed to address the woes of farmers.

Harish Rao discloses that highest number of farmer suicides -1,887- occurred during 10-year Congress rule in the united State.
The Opposition parties which are apprehensive about losing their identity were resorting to all kinds of gimmicks, he said. On the other hand, Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao charged the Congress party of being responsible for the problems the farmers woes in the State as well as across the country.
While 1800 farmers committed suicide in Telangana and some 699 farmers in Seemandhra region during N Chandrababu Naidu’s regime from 1995-2004, during the Congress party’s ten-year rule from 2004-14, the number rose drastically with 1887 farmers committing suicides inTelangana, he said.
Harish said while undertaking Yatra in the State Rahul should also study the farmer-friendly measures taken by the TRS government like waiving of farm loans, input subsidy, six-hour power supply, encouraging green house and drip irrigation technologies, and ensure their implementation.
