AP Government complained to the Centre saying that Tamil Nadu and Karnataka Governments are not cooperating with AP in controlling illegal felling of red sanders trees and its smuggling.

AP Chief Secretary IYR Krishna Rao met Union Cabinet Secretary here and explained the situation that led to the encounter of 20 Tamil Nadu wood cutters in Seshachalam forests one week ago.

"All the wood cutters involved in red sanders tree felling in AP forests are working for the followers of Veerappan. The labourers working for Veerappan followers were killed in the encounter," Krishna Rao informed the Union Home Ministry.
