The Dr.NTR University of Health Sciences (NTRUHS) has extended the last date for submitting applications for Post-Graduate Medical Entrance Test (PGMET)-2015 through http://www.drntruhs.org by two days.

Candidates can submit applications online till 5 p.m. of February 18 and printouts before the same time on February 22. Hall tickets can be downloaded from February 26 from the website. NTRUHS Registrar S. Babulal told The Hindu that there was no special reason for giving additional time, and arrangements have almost been completed for conducting the examination.

As announced earlier, the examination is being held in the online format for which necessary precautions were taken. The number of applications received online as on Feb 16 stood around 15,380 and it was expected to reach 20,000. The number of seats in medical colleges in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana is about 3,000.

It is likely to go up consequent upon the Medical Council of India giving permission for augmenting the intake of some colleges in both the State. The examination is being conducted at 12 designated centres (six each in A.P and Telangana) on March 1. It is a common examination being conducted online for the first time since the formation of NTRUHS nearly three decades ago.

Meanwhile, NTRUHS Vice-Chancellor T. Ravi Raju held a meeting with members of Executive Council in Hyderabad in the last couple of days ago and discussed a host of issues which have been pending resolution for quite some time.

The conduct of examinations was given due priority in the deliberations so also other important administrative matters that require the council’s nod.
