Motkupalli Narasimhulu to quit TDP, Motkupalli Narasimhulu to join congress
Hyderabad: TDP senior leader in Telangana, Motkupalli Narasimhulu, who has been sulking over denial of Rajya Sabha ticket, is reportedly, contemplating quitting TDP to join Congress.
The buzz in political circles is that the senior TDP leader has already decided to desert TDP, and has sought the advices of his supporters and well-wishers about joining Congress.
As per reports, Minister Jana Reddy is mediating the Motkupalli's move. Now, it is learnt that he is in touch with working president of Telangana PCC, Uttam Kumar Reddy who is also a leader from Motkupalli's native, Nalgonda district.
Sources close to Motkupalli say that he may announce his decision soon. He said that he will not stay in the party any more, as working under party president Chandrababu Naidu was difficult. He was seen breaking down in the Assembly lobby.
As fortunes of TDP in Telangana might hit a rough patch, the party is facing an exodus of sorts, with many members shifting loyalties to Congress. Motkupalli may follow suit soon.
The Congress High Command has also, reportedly, given green signal to Motkupalli's entry. Congress leaders feel that Motkupalli's entry into Congress would help the party to win SC votes in Telangana to some extent.
