Tyre major MRF Ltd will invest `980 crore as part of the expansion of their existing unit in Ankanpally vilage in Sadasivpet mandal in Medak district. The additional investment will provide 905 more jobs.
MRF chairman and managing director KM Mammen and general manager Issac Thamburaj called on chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao here on Thursday and outlined their expansion plans.
The chief minister assured them that the state government would cooperate with their expansion plans.
The existing MRF plant was started in 1990 in Ankanpally and is operating with an annual turnover of `4,300 crore and employs about 6,500 people. Now the MRF has decided to invest `980 crore more for expansion of the plant, the chief minister’s office said quoting the company officials.
The chief minister Rao assured them that there would be no power cuts for the industries in future as a number of initiatives have been taken to improve supplies and increase power generation in the state.
The required water for the industries also would be provided by the state government, once the ongoing water grid project is completed, he said. The state’s industrial policy is the best and single window clearance would attract more industries, the chief minister said.
Industries secretary Arvind Kumar and finance secretary Pradeep Chandra were among those present at the meeting.
