Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu has made it clear that there was no political interference towards selection of smart cities. Addressing the media, the minister said that on the basis of human population, the concept of selection of smart cities has been initiated. He said that allocation of funds towards states are being finalised on the basis of actual needs of the states and made it clear that there is no relation between political differences of the states with that of the release of funds.
