Mumbai: The axe of marriage invariably looms over the heads of twenty-somethings in India, but a Bengaluru based software engineer Indhuja Pillai decided to take matters in her own hands.
The 23-year-old software engineer has created a website that puts forward her matrimonial advert in the most candid way possible. Perhaps tired by the tirade of unwanted marraige proposals, Indhuja's website lays down the details of the kind of grooms she is looking out for.
marry.indhuja.comAccording to the website, the self declared 'tomboy' prefers "
A man, preferably bearded, who is passionate about seeing the world. Someone who earns for himself and does NOT hate his job. Must be flexible with his parents, also means, it's better if he is NOT a family guy. Extra points to the one who hates kids. Points for a great voice and an impressive personality. Should be able to hold a conversation for atleast 30 minutes." The advert has not only taken the Internet by storm, but it also hints at the winds of change in the world of Indian matrimony.
Indhuja has also detailed about herself in the ad saying,
" I'm not a drinker and I hate smoking. An eggitarian, not a foodie. I play badminton, sing and dance. I wear glasses and look dorky in them. Not a spendthrift or a shopaholic. Detest masala & drama, not a TV fan. I don't read. Friendly but I don't prefer friendship. NOT a womanly woman. Definitely not marriage material. Won't grow long hair, ever. I come with a life-long guarantee and I commit for life." Reports suggest that the spunky advert has generated many marraige proposals. We wonder if Indhuja has found the perfect match yet.
