Though there were some assumptions that the new state of Telangana will be losing out some business opportunities due to the lack of growth prospects, they remained as mere speculations until now. Chief Minister KCR has been working hard to get new projects and thus provide more employment to the needy people. But, the latest decision of the management of Sirpur Paper Mills, Adilabad has left its thousands of employees speechless.

Known to be one of the oldest paper mills in India and located at Khagaznagar, Sirpur Paper Mills has announced its closure due to the losses incurred over the last few years. This will be big blow to the people in and around Khagaznagar. While more than 3500 employees get directly effected with this closure, the whole town of Khagaznagar [with a population of 1 lakh] will be facing the heat now.

Though the government had a series of discussions with the management of mill, they went futile and in the end it was shut down now. A financial aid from the government would have saved the company and also the thousands of people depending on the company. "KCR should have intervened and helped the factory to continue its operations. An interest free loan of Rs. 100 crore would have worked and the lives of over 1 lakh people in Kagaznagar town are left in confusion now," said a close observer. We need to see if the company resumes with the agitations of its employees and some mediation by government!
