Telangana CM KCR to help revive BILT unit in Warangal
Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao assured all help from the government to revive Kamalapuram unit of Ballarpur Industries Limited (BILT), which was shut down a year ago.
The chief minister held a meeting with the management of the company and top officials and promised various measures to re-open the industry to help hundreds of workers who face uncertain future.
The 35-year-old company in Warangal district shut down operations in April last year due to adverse global and Indian market conditions in the market of rayon grade pulp.
The management sought supply of eucalyptus plants, coal and electricity at subsidised price. The chief minister said the state-owned Singareni Collieries Company Limited would supply 12,000 tonnes of coal every month.
He directed officials to supply eucalyptus wood for pulp and raise the plants in forests to meet entire requirement of the company within the state.
He also accepted the demand for electricity supply at subsidised rates.Established in 1977, BILT is owned by Avantha Group, India's leading business conglomerate.
