KAKINADA: More than 50 fishermen belonging to Dummulapeta and some nearby villages here are feared missing in the Bay of Bengal three days after they ventured into the sea in 11 boats.

District officials have launched search operations during a respite from rain, with the help of a helicopter under the supervision of Social Welfare Minister Ravela Kishore Babu and Collector H. Arun Kumar. However, the fishermen’s whereabouts have so far remained unknown.

Mr. Kishore Babu visited families of the fishermen at Kumbhabhishekam and gave them an assurance that a concerted effort would be made to trace the missing ones.
