Kakinada: Twelve fishermen, who ventured into sea on June 17, are reported missing. According to Deputy Director of Fisheries D Govindayya, the fishermen in two motored boats, one from Konapapa Peta under U- Kothapalli mandal and another from Dummula Peta under Kakinada city limits, ventured into sea. They did not return so far.
They were to have returned on June 19, three days after fishing in sea in accordance with the regular practice. There was so far no communication from them to their family members by mobile phone. “We alerted the Coast Guard under Eastman Naval Command and the search is on for the missing fishermen,” the DD said on Saturday.
