Hyderabad: Actor and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan is likely to protest against the proposed land acquisition move by the AP government in the capital area soon. According to sources, Pawan’s camp is now working on a strategy on how to keep the word he had given to the people of the capital area during his visit in March while at the same time not annoy the Naidu government.
Sources said that though a final decision has not been taken on the proposed deeksha, the tentative date is likely to be May 23 and two to three places, like Bethapudi and Rayapudi, will be shortlisted for it.
While Pawan’s official PR is silent over the deeksha stating that there is “no news” about it, sources said the actor has discussed it with a few close confidants. Pawan had earlier warned the state government not to go in for forced land acquisition and to take lands only from those who gave it voluntarily.
A senior TD leader from the capital area said, “There is no serious strain in relationships between Chief Minister Mr Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan. During the recent TTD Board appointment too there was some proposals by Pawan’s camp that were obliged. Even if he does some deeksha, we are hoping that it will be symbolic.”
Pawan had earlier said that he would go on an indefinite hunger strike if the Andhra Pradesh government tried to “forcibly” acquire land from farmers for setting up the new state capital.
He had told the farmers in the capital area: “I stand behind you right now. I will not accept if your lands are forcibly taken. I will fight if land is acquired through land acquisition (Act). Nobody will take away your land.” Pawan, who has Tweeted several times against forcible land acquisition, had supported the TD-BJP combine during LS polls.
