Child prodigy Agastya Jaiswal created a record by clearing the SSC Board exams at the age of nine. Agastya managed to get a 7.5 GPA in the Boards, the results of which were declared on Sunday.
Agastya had enrolled for Class X at St Hills High School in Chandrayangutta, Hyderabad, when he was just 8 years and 10 months old. His sister Naina is also a child prodigy, being the youngest journalism graduate in the country.
When aged two, son answered 300 GK questions: claims father
Child prodigy Agastya Jaiswal’s father Ashwani Kumar said, “Both, my daughter and son, have been extremely good at their academics, learning ahead
of time. Even my wife and I were meritorious so it helped. At the age of two he was answering more than 300 questions related to general knowledge.”
- The minimum age for appearing for SSC Class X exams is 14. But the government provides a relaxation of two years.
- The school has to apply to the DEO for permission. In cases of just a few months, the DEO can permit. But if the age is much lesser, the application is sent to the government. But even then children below 12 are not permitted.
- Officials said Agastya was allowed as an exceptional case this year by the new government with a view to encourage child prodigies.
