The AP government, which has launched a series of welfare schemes in the last seven months, is planning to launch more such schemes next year for the downtrodden, minorities, SCs and STs and women.

For the downtrodden, it has lined up three schemes -- the ‘Chandranna Sankranti Gift Pack’ scheme, the second phase of the NTR Sujala Sravanti Drinking Water Supply Scheme and the ‘Anna Canteens’ scheme.  

Under the ‘Chandranna Sankranti Gift Pack’ scheme, which will be launched on Sankranti day, six essential commodities worth `220 will be supplied to the downtrodden. Under the second phase of the NTR Sujala Sravanti Drinking Water Supply scheme, which will be launched soon, 20 litres of mineral water will be supplied to each villager at just `2 in 5,000 more select villages across the State. The first phase of the scheme, launched on Oct 2 this year, had covered 5,000 villages.
