As the Bangalore police set free a town-based 24-year-old techie, who was reportedly detained by the police after being allegedly deported from Turkey along with eight others, the neighbours and relatives of the young techie here heaved a sigh of relief.

The young techie, hailing from a poor family, was reportedly let off by the Bangalore police after verifying his antecedents on Monday, sources added.

The youth, the elder son of a street vendor, completed his B. Tech before leaving for Bangalore a few years ago in pursuit of a career.

According to police sources, his family originally hails from Tirumalayapalem mandal in Khammam district. The youth reportedly obtained passport from the district over three years ago. The reported detention of the young techie by Bangalore police on the suspicion that he along with eight others made an attempt to reach the war ravaged Syria via Turkey, came as unbelievable news for residents of his neighbourhood.
