Telangana state police to get 600 new vehicles
Telangana State Home Minister Naini Narasimha Reddy will launch a fleet of new vehicles for Telangana State Police Department at an event to be held on Necklace Road on Saturday.
In order to make police more responsive, professional and mobile to help the citizens, the Telangana State government had sanctioned 600 vehicles for the police department. “This addition of new fleet will enable the department to provide individual vehicles to every police station in the State. The police will now be able to respond more quickly and adequately to any situation warranting their attention and intervention,” said Director General of Police Anurag Sharma.
This is the third large-scale addition to the State police mobile fleet after creation of the new State. The first fleet of the police patrolling vehicles (SUVs and Motorcycles) for police commissionerates of Hyderabad and Cyberabad was launched by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on August 14 last year.
The fleet of interceptor vehicles for armed intervention in the metropolitan area of the State police was launched on September 26.
