The Telangana government on Friday announced the toll-free number to attend to swine flu cases in the state. People have been advised to call 104 to get complete information about swine flu vaccines and medicines. Further, if anyone who suspects of attracting swine flu is advised to visit a government hospital and remain careful during the first four days.
Meanwhile, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) announced that it would be pitching in to fight swine flu. The civic body is launching a full-fledged awareness campaign and sanitation drive. As part of the campaign, children and slum-dwellers would be senstitised about dos and don’t’s to prevent the spread of infection.
The GHMC would also be taking up a sanitation drive in the slums with special focus on high risk areas where swine flu cases were reported. The GHMC would deploy 24 vehicles with one medical officer, two nurses and a local community organiser. Zonal commissioner, deputy commissioner and special officers would coordinate in carrying out the campaign. The civic body officials along with district medical officers would be visiting places and sensitizing people about swine flu.
