Hyderabad Metro Rail,Trial run conducted

Hyderabad Metro rail project achieved another significant milestone when the concessionaire building the project – L&T Metro Rail Hyderabad (L&TMRH), conducted the maiden trial run between Miyapur and Kukatpally, a 4.4-kilometre stretch on Thursday. It falls under the Corridor One route of Miyapur to L.B. Nagar.

Although overhead stations between the second construction stage of the project upto S.R. Nagar are almost ready, the chief electrical inspector of the metro rail has given permission to the authorities concerned for run upto four stations to begin with rather than a straight stretch of 10 km, official sources said.

Miyapur depot is the second largest for the metro rail project spread over 100 acres after the Nagole depot and L&TMRH has almost completed all the works inside. There are around 10 three-coach trains sourced from Hyundai Rotem (South Korea) currently stationed in the depot and one among them was run today.

There are also 18 three coach trains stationed at the Uppal Depot and are taking part in trial runs day and night over the last few months between a near nine-kilometre stretch between Nagole and Mettuguda. It falls under Corridor Three of Nagole to Shilparamam-Raidurg. Corridor Two is between Jubilee Bus Station and Falaknuma.
