Government of Telangana has launched the program for restoration of all Minor Irrigation tanks in the State to their original capacity and to effectively utilize the 265
TMC of water allocated for Minor Irrigation sector under Godavari and Krishna River basins as a flagship programme under the name “MISSION KAKATIYA”.
The Chief Engineer, Minor Irrigation, has submitted the proposals under Mission Kakatiya for comprehensive restoration of tanks for according Administrative approval, following which the Government has accorded administrative approval for a total amount of Rs.6712.73 lakhs, as follows:
Karimnagar district: Number of tanks 12, Ayacut- 1122 acres; Cost of Estimates: 434.31 lakhs.
Adilabad district: Number of tanks 25, Ayacut 1541 acres, Cost of Estimates—Rs. 574 lakhs.
Warangal district: No. of tanks 22, Ayacut (acres) 1470, Cost of Estimates (lakhs) 595.16.
Nizamabad district: No. of tanks 34, Ayacut (acres) 4478, Cost of Estimates (Lakhs) 1495.01.
Medak district: No. of Tanks 64, Ayacut (Acres) 3102, Cost of Estimates (lakhs) 970.20
Ranga Reddy district: No. of tanks 44, Ayacut (Acres) 8633, Cost of Estimates (lakhs) 2644.05.
Total: Rs. 6712.73. The Chief Engineer, Minor Irrigation, shall take necessary action accordingly and to complete the work within the stipulated period without fail and furnish utilization certificate for the amount sanctioned above, the GO said.
