Khammam: Minister for Roads and Buildings Tummala Nageswara Rao warned the officials of stringent action if they did not perform their duties properly.Rao, who reviewed the progress of Kakatiya Mission, Water Grid and other programmes at Sathupalli on Monday, expressed unhappiness over the progress of the works. He asked the officials to change their mindset and work for the development of the State.
Though the officials were told some three months ago to expedite the developmental works, there was not much progress, he pointed out. Stating that he could not monitor the progress of the works due to election code, he directed the officials to ensure completion of works within schedule.“No official will be spared if he fails to perform his duty properly,” the Minister warned. H said that he would monitor the works at regular intervals.
Inaugurating several developmental works in Dammapet mandal, the Minister said: “The responsibility of developing the district lies with me as the region has not seen any sort of development for the past 10 years.”He sought the support of the administration and the people in the implementation of developmental works.
Besides officials, the local people should keep an eye on the developmental works in their region, especially on the quality of works, he said.“Khammam will become a model district in the State,” Rao said, while disclosing that an action plan was on the anvil for the all-round development of the region.Zilla Parishad Chairperson G Kavitha, DCCB Chairman Muvva Vijay Babu, Panchayat Raj Superintending Engineer N Ganga Reddy and other officials were present at the meeting.
