Khammam: Congress is ready to take on TRS government, said Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, who is here on his first visit to the district after he was made TPCC working president by the AICC.Speaking to the media at the Congress Bhavan here on Monday, Bhatti said that the TRS which came to power riding on its pro-bifurcation image has done nothing for people.
“People’s aspirations, post-bifurcation, took a dent as Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao ignored his entire promises made during the elections,” he said, while referring to the TRS failure to provide a job each to every house-hold, 3 acres of land to weaker sections and others.Congress never worried about power and it will not in the future as well, Bhatti said, pointing out that his party has always tried to uphold the spirit of democracy.
With many hopes, people gave power to the TRS, but in the end it has become a family rule, he said.“Unfortunately, only the ‘four’ at the helm of the TRS affairs are the real beneficiaries after the then Congress-led UPA government conceded the decades-old demand of the people,” Bhatti said, calling upon Congress cadres to unite and fight against the unilateral decisions of the TRS that were affecting the development of the State.
He said that time has come for the Congressmen to make a concerted effort to bring the deeds of the TRS to people’s court.Emphasising the need for strengthening the party from booth-level, he told the cadres to work for the Congress agenda of achieving social Telangana.
A host of legislators including Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy, Ramreddy Venkata Reddy, Puvvada Ajay Kumar, DCC president Aitham Satyam and former DCC president Vanama Venkateswara Rao were among others present.Earlier, Bhatti Vikramarka was given a rousing welcome at Nayakangudem, the district’s entry point, by thousands of Congress workers.
