Govt to set up residential school,hostel in each district for minorities,Urdu is second language in telangana,KCR’s approval the State government,pre-Matric scholarships
Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Tuesday put his signature on a file to make Urdu as the first language option since the demand for making Urdu as first language has been pending for quite some time. Right now, Urdu is second language in the State.
A press release issued by the Chief Minister’s Office said following KCR’s approval the State government would set up a residential school and a hostel for the Minorities in each district. KCR also decided to grant pre-Matric scholarships to all minorities. About 75,000 students now get such scholarships under the Central grants. Officials estimated that there was a need for providing 75,000 more pre-Matric scholarships. The Chief Minister approved it and affixed his signature on the file.
