Hyderabad: The plans of Telangana Udyamakarula Vedika, a new organisation which was floated to fight against anti-people policies of the TRS government, to seek support of Telangana JAC, got a jolt with the latter refusing to join hands with it. Telangana JAC, which played a stellar role in statehood movement, has decided to function independently, like before, and continue to play a watchdog role for realization of Bangaru Telangana.

It may be mentioned here that the new outfit led by former TRS leader Cheruku Sudhakar has recently appealed to TJAC chairman Prof. Kodandaram to work with them. He even wrote an open letter to the latter on Monday. But, Telangana JAC, is understood to have decided not to lend support since it is not fully convinced about the role of the new organization.

The steering committee of the Telangana JAC met here, on Tuesday, to discuss about first State Formation Day fete. The JAC decided to hold celebrations from June 1 evening till June 4 from mandal level to state level. Hoisting of national and Telangana flags, felicitation of Telangana Martyrs families, photo exhibition highlighting key moments of statehood movement, dhoom-dham performances, among others will be organized.

Meanwhile, TJAC set up sub-committees on pending issues of bifurcation, welfare, agriculture, education and health, irrigation, employment etc and these committees would be looking into government policies and study its achievements and shortcomings in their implementation. The JAC steering committee will meet again in three to four weeks to study all reports and recommend its views to the state government.
