Vizianagaram: The police have at last solved the sensational murder mystery of a railway employee, Swati, on Wednesday. They arrested Gopi, colleague of Swati, for killing her for transfer. They also arrested three persons for helping him in the murder.
Chittimoju Swati, who worked as a technician at Srungavarapukota mandal railway power sub-station was found murdered on May 11.
According to the police, Swati worked in Gopalapatnam and Gopi in S.Kota. Gopi was transferred to Gopalapatnam while Swati to S.Kota. Gopi tried to reverse his transfer orders by threatening Swati. When that didn't work out, along with three others, he planned and killed Swati.
Following the orders of SP Navdeep Singh Grewal, Vizianagaram DSP P.V. Ratnam CCS DSP A.S.Chakravarthy took up the challenge. After enquiring several people like railway employees, private workers, tea and snacks vendors, family members of the victim's husband and others, they found Gopi as the main person.
Gopi recently got promoted after completing departmental exams. According to sources, he had contacts with scrap iron thieves while he was working at S.Kota.
Also there were scrap iron transport cases filed against him.
