World Bank sanctions Rs 35 crore to AP Zoo

Indira Gandhi Zoological Park in Visakhapatnam,AP Zoo,World Bank

Indira Gandhi Zoological Park in Visakhapatnam will be receiving a grant to the tune of Rs 35 crore from the World Bank for the renovation works in the Zoo.

Zoo Officials have plans to use the bulk money for five major projects which will give a completely different look and make it a major tourist attraction in the city. Sea Water Aquarium, Safari Park, Captive Breeding of 3 New Species, Renovation of Old Enclosures & Setting up new ones will be given top priority.

Sea Water Aquarium will come up dolphinatorium in the zoo. Marine Life and Glass Technology experts will be hired for this project.

The Safari Park will cover 30 hectares of land and have as many as 8 lions/tigers. It will also serve as an Animal Rescue Centre (ARC) for rescued circus animals.  
 
When its comes to Captive Breeding, Mouse Deer, Fishing Cat and Rusty Spotted Cat will be taken care of.
