The illegal  constructions made by  the YSRC legislator from Chandragiri in Chittoor district Chevi Reddy Bhaskar Reddy has caught the attention of officials of  AP Legislative assembly  who made a surprise check on the MLA's quarters at Adarsh Nagar this morning.

Assembly secretary Satyanarayana led by a team of assembly staff made a surprise check and found that Chevireddy had constructied a single-storeyed house spread over 200 sq yards and renovated the area all around the official accommodation.

Over the past six months, he has  taken up the construction activity spread over 200 sq yards and renovated the area all around the official accommodation even as officials concerned looked the other way.

Chevireddy, a close confidante of Jagan was allotted quarter no. 157 by the AP assembly secretariat in the New MLA Quarters at Adarshnagar in May last. Chevireddy says that the new quarters is for his constituency people visiting him in Hyderabad as they cannot afford to stay in hotels. However, the construction does not look like that.

Chevi Reddy's lavish quarters now has a main hall with AC, interior decoration and false ceiling, a dining hall, office and a bedroom. He hired the services of two interior decorators from Puducherry to embellish the premises. The furniture will come from Dubai and each room will have a big LED TV.

Satyanarayana said he has called for a full report on the constructions by the Executive engineer and also sought an explanation from the MLA Chevi Reddy. "I have not done anything illegal or new. I have done what all MLAs, particularly those from the ruling party have done now and also in the past," said  Chevi Reddy when asked.

I have not  encroached any governmet land, but only modernised and repaired the quarters which  had leakages and falling plasters whenever there were rains, says Chevi Reddy.

He had earlier served as a member of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams executive board and chairman of Tirupati Urban Development Authority (TUDA). During this tenure, he had developed a temple in his home town for which he drew huge funds from the TTD  and also organised parallel Brahmotsavams.
