Thoughts: Wow! A big surprise, and a happy one. Rodriguez is just incredible on Jane the Virgin, one of the season’s best new shows. But what is this Wild-style trek she has up to the stage?

Best Television Series – Comedy or Musical

* Transparent, Amazon Instant Video
Thoughts: Say what you will about the HFPA, but they have great taste in new comedies. Transparent is so quietly lovely it could’ve gone overlooked, but it’s an incredible work worthy of this prize.

Thoughts: IMHO, the right person got the win. So happy to see Arquette’s subtle work in Boyhood has not gone unnoticed.
