Summer season is here and the trade circles are happy again with the box office being set on fire with a spate of new releases. Of all the latest outings, one film has been graciously walking away with all the moolah. The film is Allu Arjun and Trivikram's S/O Satyamurthy and it has already collected more than 42 crores in just 2 weeks.

S/O Satyamurthy belongs to the family drama genre, a longstanding trump card that has been rescuing Tollywood's trade time and again. In the recent past, Atharintiki Dharedhi, a family entertainer yet again, ended up as an all time industry hit.

Even the upcoming film of Superstar Mahesh Babu and NTR, Srimanthudu and Maa Nannaki Prematho are also family entertainers, reiterating the significance of the genre. Many of Tollywood's leading producers like Suresh Babu, Dil Raju and Allu Arvind prefer making family entertainers for the sole reason that these genre films enjoy a huge patronage from family audiences, which in turn result in heavy collections at the box office.

While other genres like action thrillers and romantic entertainers do have their own set of patrons, nothing still beats a film that provides wholesome family entertainment.
