Racism/Child Labour Stains Aish's Jewellery Ad

22nd April, 2015 8:13pm     Tollywood      Comments
After more than a couple of years following her pregnancy and motherhood of her baby girl, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is back into the limelight with her film and brand endorsements. While Aish has been shooting for her comeback film Jazbaa, the gorgeous lady has just shot for a jewellery ad which invited protestors' ire.

In the print ad which was published on the main page of a national news daily, Aish is seen looking royal and elegant like those noblewomen of Europe in the 17th century and relaxing, while her assistant, a black slave child, stands behind her holding an umbrella for Aish.

This image has sparked off a controversy and the protesting groups even wrote an open letter Aishwarya, condemning her for supporting racism and child labour. The protestors even criticized the advertising agency and the brand officials for the unjust use of creativity and demanded them to withdraw their ad campaign. The protestors include eminent writers, law officials and child rights activists.
