Hyderabad: The Business Advisory Committee (BAC) of the Telangana Assembly has decided that action would be taken against the ‘hooligans’, who were responsible for the acrimonious scenes witnessed in the House during Governor ESL Naramsimhan’s  address to the joint session on the first day of the budget session on Saturday, after examining the video footage by all floor leaders of the parties in the Assembly.

The BAC also resolved to take action against those who shouted slogans when the national anthem was sung before the Governor’s address in the august House. In the meeting, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) floor leader E Dayakar Rao strongly condemned the attack on his party MLAs by the TRS legislators when the TDP members were shouting slogans against the Telangana government for its failure in implementing promises and poaching its members.

Taking serious note of it, Speaker S Madhusudhana Chary said after the floor leaders examined the footage, he would convene the BAC and take action against the persons responsible for the incident. Earlier, the TDP leaders including A Revanth Reddy and Dayakar Rao, along with their party MLAs, staged sit-in in the Speaker’s room and demanded to take action against the TRS legislators immediately. They alleged that the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao instigated TRS members to attack the TDP members.

Intensifying their stir, the TDP leaders complained to Joint Commissioner of Police (Special Branch) V Nagi Reddy against the marshals for manhandling the legislators and allowing the TRS members to attack them in the House.  Dayakar Rao vented his ire at Assembly Secretary Raja Sadaram and accused the official of playing hide and seek in the whole episode.

On the request of the TDP leaders, the main Opposition Congress MLAs led by CLP leader K Jana Reddy also met the Speaker and demanded immediate action. The injured TDP MLC P Nageshwara Rao was called on by the Speaker and enquired about his health.
