Music director Chakri’s mother Vidyavathi, who is currently on a fast demanding possession of Chakri's flat in Somajiguda, said that she has no other source of income other than her husband’s pension and hence wants to live in her house in Varun Swargam Villa in Somajiguda
She stated that her husband and Chakri had bought the house by selling their land and that she is the nominee of the house after Chakri’s death.
She said that though she pays for the house loan every month, she has not been receiving the rent. She further accused her daughter-in-law Sravani of selling their SUV and Audi to settle in the USA. However, Sravani speaking to Sakshipost from USA said that Chakri’s family didn’t love him and is fighting now just for the property. She further added that she already has lot of debts to be cleared. She said it was she who was paying the house loan as well.
On Tuesday, Chakri's mother Vidyavathi and brother Mahit Narayan sat on a protest fast in front of Varun Swargam Villa, which they claim as they own. They claimed that the tenant, identified as one Madhavi, has not been paying them rent for the past several months. However, Madhavi has claimed that she has been paying rent regularly and has furnished receipts of payments as a proof.
Ever since Chakri passed away, dispute over properties arose among the family members with wife on one side and the his mother and sisters on the other. Immediately after Chakri's death, Shravani approached the police claiming that Chakri's mother and brother were harassing her for Chakri's properties. Film industry elders intervened and tried to solve the dispute. Ever since, there has been a lull for over the past one year.
