In an yet another set back to Telugu film industry, noted comedian Kondavalasa Lakshman Rao passed away on Monday. He breathed his last following his illness. He was being treated at NIMS, Hyderabad. Kondavalasa was 69-year-old. He is survived by wife Kamala. Before making his foray into films, he worked in Visakhapatnam Trust as an employee.
With a passion for acting, Kondavalasa acted as a theatre artiste, and acted in over 250 stage plays, given 1000 stage performances. He was said to be a serious artiste in stage plays. When director Vamsy had seen one of his stage plays, he was impressed with his performance and cast him as a comedian in his film Avunu Valliddaru Isthapaddaru in 2002. Since then, there was no looking back for him. His performance in the film received several accolades.
Acted in over 70 films, his filmography include prominent films like Andarivadu, Sainikudu, Adhurs, Varudu, Radha Gopalam, Evadi Gola Vadide, Satyam and many more.
Several popular comedians like MS Narayana, AVS, Dharmavarapu Subramanyam, Ahuti Prasad, Mada Venkateswara Rao passed away leaving Telugu film industry grief-stricken. With the untimely passing away of Kondavalasa, Telugu industry has lost one more great talented artiste.
