Several Tollywood celebrities, politicians and industrialists from AP and Telangana were nominated as Swachh Bharat ambassadors by the Union Government.

Apart from veteran play back singer S.P. Balasubrahmanam, actors Pawan Kalyan and Nitin, actor Nagarjuna's wife Amala, MP Kavita, lyricist Suddala Ashok Teja, industrialists Galla Jayadev, GVK Reddy, J. Rameswara Rao, BVR Mohana Reddy and J.A Choudary, cricketers VVS Lakshman, Sivalal Yadav, badminton player and trainer Pullela Gopichand and chess player Koneru Hampi, media man Vemuri Radha Krishna and doctors Gopichand and GS Rao were nominated as brand ambassadors for the Swachh Bharat Mission launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
