Senior actress and filmmakers Suhasini Maniratnam has come down heavily on the amateur critics and bloggers.  Speaking to the media at the audio success function of her husband and legendary filmmaker, Mani Ratnam, the actress said that social media enables numerous film enthusiasts to voice out their opinions on the Friday releases.

The actress particularly pointed out the standards of the amateur critics who write for several film portals. Suhasini even said that Madras Talkies has been a popular production house that has been producing quality films for the last 23 years and that it will continue to do so in the future as well. The media interaction took place with the film's cast and crew members like Mani Ratnam, PC Sreeram, AR Rahman, Vairamuthu and the hero, Dulquer Salmaan.

Recently, national award winning filmmaker Praveen Sattaru also lashed out at the critics and their perspective while criticizing a film. The director requested the critics not gauge a film with a fixed template and suggested them to give each film its chance to penetrate into the audiences. Are the critics listening?
