NBK Lion - Safe And Legally Valid

12th April, 2015 10:42am     Tollywood      Comments
Sometime back a Telangana producer and director claimed that they have registered the title 'Lion' in AP and Telangana Film Chambers as well. They accused Balakrishna of grabbing their title without any legal permission, neither having a word with them. It looks like Balayya's makers took smart route to settle this issue.

According to old rules of Film Chamber, any production house could register a title and keep it for years. But new rules don't allow them to do so, as the makers need to start filming in at least a month and should shoot 10 minutes footage at least to hold rights on the title. Seems like 'Lion' title was registered during the times of old rules, so the original owners could keep it forever. Point is that, a title that has a different suffix or prefix couldn't be denied. Rather bargaining with the owners, makers of Balayya's movie have made move with the same old smart technique.

Yes, Balayya's Lion' is not just 'Lion' but it is 'NBK Lion'. And for legal complications sake, many guest and host at audio function have repeatedly pronounced it as 'NBK Lion' only. 'Kalyanram Kathi' and 'Raviteja Nippu' and this film falls in the line. Safe and legally valid.
