2015 has started on a good note for Jacqueline Fernandez. Not only did she play a double role in the recent film ‘Roy’, she also bagged a role in ‘Brothers’ and Rohit Dhawan’s ‘Dishoom’ opposite Varun Dhawan.
The actress has now been approached to play the female lead in Karan Johar’s highly ambitious project ‘Shuddhi’ opposite Salman Khan, according to a report in Absolute India.
A source was quoted as saying, “Karan seems to be keen on signing her for the film, in fact they were even discussing the project at a recent party where they had met. Jacqueline is now working out her dates for the movie.”
'Shuddhi’ has been in the news for sometime now for its casting ever since it was announced. Initially Hrithik Roshan was approached for the lead role, however he opted out. After which Karan approached ‘Kill Dil’ star Ranveer Singh for the part, but he too declined the offer, which was then taken up by Salman Khan.
Similarly for the female lead, a number of actresses were approached, including Kareena Kapoor who later opted out of the film. We wonder if Jacqueline has given the thumbs-up to this highly anticipated project.
If the actress is on board this will be her second film with Salman Khan after Sajid Nadiadwala’s ‘Kick’ in 2014.
