Here’s some good news for Phunsukh Wangdu fans. The 2009 blockbuster 3 Idiots, starring Aamir Khan, R. Madhvan, Sharman Joshi and Kareena Kapoor, will now have a sequel.

We have learnt that the film’s director Rajkumar Hirani and screenwriter Abhijat Joshi have started work on the sequel and have been researching it for a while now. The screenplay will take some more time though.

Rajkumar Hirani confirmed the news saying, “Yes, we are working on the subject and have cracked the idea. But it will take some time.”

Raju will also work on Sanjay Dutt’s biopic soon, for which he has already met Dutt’s family members.  The actor’s good friend Ranbir Kapoor has said “yes” to play the lead role. It may take a while, but rest assured that the sequel’s well on its way.
