Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has gotten in touch with slain sandalwood smuggler Veerappan's widow, Muthulakshmi to gather details for his upcoming film, Killing Veerappan.

Apparently the filmmaker had met the sandalwood brigand's wife over 8 years ago and even signed a contract. "I discussed this project with him in 2007. We signed an agreement, but that lapsed long ago. Now, he wants me to attend the film's international press conference. He intends to get more information for the film from me," says Muthulakshmi.
