The multi-talented Vimala Raman, who is currently working in a Kannada project Raja Rajendra, directed by Ponukumaran, will be seen in a new avatar. "My character is set in the 1920s and I play the role of a royal woman from a zamindar family. My look, costumes and body language will be totally different," shares the actress, who's also wrapping up the shooting for a Malayalam movie, Turning Point. "It's a woman-centric film, where I play the role of a traditional woman. What drew me towards this movie was that it's a thriller, and my role is interestingly etched."

But despite her being busy, she seems to going slow in Tollywood. Accepting the fact, she admits, "That's because I have been busy working in other languages and traveling extensively. I've done a wide range of roles, but now I'm looking to focus on meaty roles. I'm in talks with a few filmmakers and I shall announce soon."

One little known fact about this actress is that she is a trained Bharatanatyam dancer. "I saw a few dance-based movies like Mayuri, Sagara Sangamam, etc. at an early age and was so fascinated with the dance form! Till date, I've given more than 300 stage performances internationally, including at the opening ceremony of the Sydney Olympics in 2000. I also want to set up a dance academy in Chennai," shares the actress.
