Suriya’s ‘Massu Engira Maasilamani’ is doing thumping pre release business and it has beaten the records of Ajith’s Yennai Arindhaal. The makers of this movie created huge buzz which in turn helped the movie to do a remarkable pre-release business.

‘Massu Engira Maasilamani’ collected Rs 80 Crore through its various rights and it has beaten the record of Ajith’s Yennai Arindhaal which collected Rs 64.75 Crore.

Sources say that Suriya starrer earned about Rs 34-35 Crore from Tamil Nadu Theatrical rights, about Rs 9 Crore from overseas rights, Rs 10 Crore from AP/Nizam rights, Rs 4 Crore from Karnataka, Rs 3 Crore from Kerala and about Rs 50 Lakh from rest of India.

Sun TV acquired satellite rights of ‘Massu Engira Maasilamani’ for Rs 15 Crore. Eros International paid Rs 75 Lakh for the audio right.

On the other hand, “Yennai Arindhaal” had collected ₹35 Crore from Tamil Nadu theatrical rights, ₹2.4 Crore from Kerala, ₹2.25 Crore from Karnataka, ₹60 Lakh from rest of India and ₹9 Crore from the overseas rights to take its total tally to ₹ 49.25 Crore.

Satellite rights of Yennai Arindhaal fetched Rs 14 Crore and Sony Music had paid ₹1.5 Crore for the audio rights. Thus, the pre-release business of “Yennai Arindhaal” ended at ₹64.75 Crore.

Let us wait and see whether Suriya’s starrer manages to maintain same magic at BO or not…
