Commercial films with political elements is quite common in our filmdom, but an complete intense political drama takes a lot of research on current politics and politicians, flawless plot and a hero who believes in a gutsy director. Otherwise we would not have seen best movies like socio-political films like M Dharmaraju MA, Leader, Rangam and Prasthanam.
A hero like Ram Charan in a political genre is totally out of box idea and a strong dream of a young director. Ani Kanneganti is the director of Sundeep Kishan's Run movie which is set for release tomorrow and he narrated a socio political zoner story-line to Ram Charan four years back and even got a nod from him. Drastic change and unexpected developments in state politics made it a stale story and Ram Charan backed from it for the same reason.
Recently, when Ani got a proposal of 'Neram' remake from producer Anil Sunkara, when he narrated a different story to the latter. This young director still has that fervor for political film and he wants to direct it with Ram Charan some day.
Ani Kanneganti was launched as director with Kalyan Ram's Asadhyudu, but his name was Anil Krishna then. After a disastrous debut, he tested himself with Manchu Manoj's Mr Nookayya, another dud.
