Devotees of Lord Shiva observe some tough rituals on the day and night of Maha Shivarathri every year. They abstain from eating food the whole day and night. Moreover, they keep away from sleeping.
To stay awake all night on Shivarathri, most of the devotees prefer watching movies as such exhibitors screen latest blockbusters and industry hits in their theaters. Usually, industry hit movie gets more number of theaters for screening for midnight shows while blockbuster films occupy next spot.
Shockingly, Tollywood's latest industry hit 'Baahubali' was screened in just four theaters in Hyderabad while Prince Mahesh's 'Srimanthudu' was screened in 27 theaters. As 'Srimanthudu' being a blockbuster film, the film's screening in 27 theaters is justified. But why has such a less number of theaters for 'Baahubali's screening? Analysts say, although 'Baahubali' created magic in collections, it has not that stuff to maintain sustainability for a long time. Unlike 'Baahubali', 'Magadheera' was screened in maximum number of theaters on the Shivarathri of 2010.
