The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has published the time table for Civil Services Main Examination. The exam is scheduled to be held on December 12 to December 23.

The commission had declared the result of preliminary examination on October 12. The exam was held on August 23 at 71 centres across the country. Over 4.50 lakh aspirants attempted the exam. The candidates who have qualified this exam and have been found eligible shall have to appear for the (Mains) and a personality test/interview round.

The UPSC has revised the paper pattern of Civil Services Main examination. There are 7 + 2 = 9 papers to be answered in the Main examination. All of them are descriptive type. There are two qualifying papers: Any modern Indian language and English. Both are of 300 marks each. Their marks will not be counted in the Main examination.
