Megastar Chiranjeevi on Monday protested at Rajamahendravaram airport where he along with APCC president Raghuveera Reddy was detained by the police, preventing them from proceeding to Kirlampudi where Kapu leader Mudragada Padmnabham was fasting in support of his community demands.
Enraged by the detention, Chiranjeevi, a Kapu, said they were proceeding to Kirlampudi only to express their solidarity with the Kapu leader and not to create any disturbances there.
Megastar said he and Raghuveera Reddy were detained under Section 151 of the Code of Civil Procedure to prevent the abuse of court process. This was unreasonable.
He took a dig at the ruling TDP saying it acted one way when in power and the other way when out of power. This was undemocratic to say the least. The move was to muzzle the Congress voice, he added.
Earlier, Chiranjeevi staged a dharna at Airport Police Station at Rajamahendravaram.
