The police have cracked the case of murder of a call centre employee, Sanjay, who was stabbed to death at Swapnalok complex in Secunderabad on Thursday, with the arrest of four youths of the Old City.
It was stated that Sanjay, who was heavily drunk, had picked up a quarrel as he got into a share taxi. While there were four people going to the Old City already in the car, Sanjay boarded it at Punjagutta. Soon he picked up an argument with the four youths.
The police stated that the four youths stopped the car at Swapnalok Complex and attacked Sanjay with knives. As the knife pierced Sanjay's heart, he died on the spot.
The police made the arrests with the help of the CCTV footage and after speaking to the share taxi driver.
There are, however, some loose ends in the case. Why would a car bound for Old city come to Swapanlok complex in Secunderabad, when there was a straighter route to Old City? Was the car diverted to Secunderabad at the behest of Sanjay? Was this the issue that led to the fatal argument? How did the four youths get knives? Were they killers on the hunt? The police would hopefully clarify the matters.
