The Hyderabad police have formed teams to nab Ravela Susheel, AP Minister Ravela Kishore's son, charged with the Nirbhaya Act, for trying to outrage the modesty of a woman. Susheel is at large since the police served a notice on him under Section 41 of the Cr.P.C. on Saturday morning.
Susheel was involved in an incident of pulling a woman into his car at Jubilee Hills in Hyderabad on Friday, following which the woman's husband and passers-by thrashed him up.
The police had served his driver Ramesh a notice on Fiday evening, but apparently hesitated to serve another notice on the main accused in the case.
Admitting the delay, DCP Venkateswar Rao said there was no question of any leniency in the case with the Nirbhaya Act being applied to Susheel. If he was found guilty, he would be jailed.
Susheel had pretended in the social media yesterday that he had patched up with the woman. But the woman went to the police and threatened to stage a dharna there if Susheel was allowed to get away in the case. The police, therefore, had to act in the matter.
There was a communication gap, the DCP explained.
Susheel would certainly be arrested, the DCP added. If Susheel was found guilty, he was liable to be sentenced for 7 years in jail.
