Hyderabad: As part of the strengthening and streamlining medical services, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Wednesday has ordered filling up of 2,400 vacant posts in government hospitals through Telangana State Public Service Commission.
At a review meeting held at his camp office in Begumpet, the Chief Minster hoped that transfer of executive power to superintendents of the hospitals along with increased budget for medical and health would improve the condition of government hospitals in the State.
He asked the officials to ensure that all prescribed medicines should be available in the hospital for avoiding any inconvenience to patients. The HoDs should be provided executive power for spending Rs 2 crore and superintendents of Osmania, Gandhi hospitals should be provided Rs 1 crore, he said.
He called upon the officials to ensure that the government hospitals get stabilisation, standardisation and consolidation. Among other important decisions taken during the meeting include construction of high-rise building for attendants of patients in Osmania Hospital.
