Samajwadi Party MLA Jagram Paswan's brothers allegedly shot dead a 32-year-old man was on Saturday for overtaking their vehicle.
The incident took place in Balrampur-Gonda region while the victim Jairam was returning after a wedding.
Jairam’s vehicle reportedly collided with a jeep coming from the opposite direction on Saturday night, while on his way back from Gonda. A heated exchange ensued, resulting in the Paswan brothers allegedly assaulting Jairam and ultimately shooting him when he resisted, according to the police.
Police registered an FIR t against Annu Paswan, Pappu Paswan and Angad Paswan following a complaint by victim's family members.
The accused are at large and eight teams have been formed to nab them, a media report stated quoting Balrampur SP Pradeep Kumar Yadav.
Samajwadi Party is in power in the state which will elect a new Assembly in 2017.
