The YSR Congress party MLA from Gudiwada Kodali Venkateswara rao (Nani) has filed a petition in the High Court challenging the appointment of DGP Jasti Venkata  Ramudu.

He alleges that Ramudu has been offered the DGP post only because he helps Chandrababu Naidu to make coup against former CM of the undivided AP state late NTR. Nani alleges that Ramudu provided security to Chandrababu Naidu and to his MLAs, who assembled in the Vice Roy Hotel, while he was serving as the Deputy Commissioner of Hyderabad North Zone.

Nani also alleges that Ramudu got extension of his service after his date of birth was corrected in the year 1993. So, Nani believes that Ramudu is not deserved to be appointed as the DGP of the state and so he should be stripped off from his post and the same is to be offered to the senior most officer to ensure free and fair policing in the state.
